Rules and Guidelines
Stage 1: Abstract Submission and Selection
  • The topic of presentation can be from Life Sciences and Agriculture.
  • Participants should mark their entry by registering at Paper Presentation in the official website: mailto:www.biozion.in
  • Submit your abstract by 20th July 2023
  • Email your abstract to: mailto:paper.biozion@gmail.co
  • The abstract should contain maximum of 300 words along with keywords mentioned separately.
  • Ensure your abstract follows Times New Roman font (size 12) and line spacing of 1.5
Stage 2: Registration
  • Finalists are requested to register on or before 25th July 2023
  • Visit our website mailto:www.biozion.in for registration and latest updates
  • Registration fees -Rs.100
Stage 3: Final Presentation
  • The final presentation will be conducted offline mode at College of Agriculture, Vellayani.
  • Each speaker will be given 10-minutes (8 minutes for presentation + 2 minutes for Q&A) for presentation.

Winners will be awarded cash rewards, mementos, and certificates. Participants will also receive feedback from the judges, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.

Poster presentation: Streamline the science through posters

Instructions:

Stage 1: Abstract Submission and Selection
  • Calling all enthusiastic UG scholars
  • Mail the abstract of your research paper (in pdf format) to mailto:researchposter.biozion@gmail.com before 15th July 2023
  • Each participant can submit only one abstract based on the topics related to Life Science Biotechnology or Agriculture
  • Abstracts of original research should contain 250-300 words
  • Make sure that your abstract follows the Font: Times New Roman, Size – 12, Line spacing: 1.5 with normal margins (2.54 cm by 2.54 cm)
  • Name your file in the following format: Your Name_Stream_College.pdf
  • Selected candidates will be informed through email/call on or before 20th July 2023
  • Online registration is compulsory for the selected candidates.
  • Visit our website mailto:www.biozion.in for registration with a fee of Rs.100 on or before 23rd July 2023
Stage 2: Poster Presentation
  • Please prepare your poster in DIN A0 (841mm x 1189mm) or DIN A0 Oversize (882mm x 1247mm), upright format (Portrait!!!) as the poster boards will not accommodate "landscape" formats. Please note that the organizers are not able to provide a printout of posters
  • All presenters are supposed to be in front of their poster during their poster session and to shortly introduce their poster (i.e., outline the main message in not more than 3 minutes)
  • The organizers of BioZion 2023 will grant the winners with prize rewards, mementos and certificates

PLAN ON IT: Innovate, Inspire, Impact

This event gives you a golden opportunity to come up with innovative ideas that help to create solutions for the Agriculture and Biotechnology sectors to maintain a sustainable future of environmental health, economic profitability, social & economic equity. So, grab this opportunity to innovate, inspire and impact with the Business Plan event.

Theme: ‘Innovation for a Sustainable Future: Creating Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’

RULES:
  • Calling for all UG, PG & PhD students to unleash ideas for a strategic plan
  • The proposed plan should be from the field of Agriculture and Biotechnology
  • A team should be of 2 to 4 members and all the participants should be from the same institution
  • An individual can register as a part of only one team
  • The decision of the panel will be final
DESCRIPTION OF ROUNDS OF THE EVENT:
Round I: Abstract Submission
  • 1. This round will be online
  • 2. Draft an abstract of 250-300 words
  • 3. Only pdf file formats will be accepted
  • 4. The submission should be in one page, Font - Times New Roman, Size - 12, Line Spacing – 1.5 with normal margins (2.54 cm by 2.54 cm)
  • 5. Name your file in the following format: Event Name_ Team Name_College.pdf
  • 6. The PDF should be sent to the mail:businessplan.biozion@gmail.com on or before 15th July 2023. The subject should be the name of the event and include name of the student, college name, university name and contact number in the description.
  • 7. It should composed of:
    • Overview of the Business Plan
    • What is the existing gap or problem that you are solving?
    • What is your solution/idea/product?
    • What is your revenue model?
  • 8. Selected candidates will be intimated personally through email/ call
  • 9.Visit our website for registration of Round 2 with a fee of Rs.250 on or before 23rd July 2023
Round II: Oral Presentation
  • 1. For the final round, finalists will be presenting their business plans in offline mode at College of Agriculture, Vellayani
  • 2. The template for the presentation will be shared to the finalist through their registered email address
  • 3. Each team will have a captivating 10 minute slot to impact
  • The details regarding this round will be conveyed to the qualifying teams through email
  • 4. Top performing team will be awarded with exciting cash prizes, certificates and memento

Final round submission will be judged according to the following criteria:

  • Is the business financially feasible?
  • Quality of products, services and /or solutions
  • Market opportunities and competition
  • Overall attractiveness of the venture

Join us for an exhilarating Ideathon competition where innovative minds come together to shape the future of biotech and agriculture.

Stage 1 - Abstract Submission
  • One team must comprise of 3 to 5 members.
  • Visit our official website at www.biozion.com to register your team and unlock a personalized team ID, marking your entry into the competition.
  • Draft an abstract within the range of 200 to 300 words, encapsulating your idea. Articulate the problem statement, propose an innovative solution, highlight potential impacts, and outline key features.
  • Share your abstract via email to ideathon.biozion@gmail.com before the deadline (15th July 2023), ensuring your subject line includes your team ID.
  • The selected ideas will get an email confirming their participation for the final event.
  • The finalists are accounted to pay Rs. 250for final round.
Stage 2 - Offline Presentation:
  • The finalists will be allocated 6 minutes to present their idea (4 min presentation + 2 min discussion).
  • Meticulously develop a comprehensive presentation that delves into the technical aspects, implementation plan, potential benefits, and supporting evidence of your idea. Be concise and persuasive.
  • Maintain your impact within the designated time limit, ensuring your presentation is coherent and engaging.
  • Utilize audiovisual aids, prototypes, or visual elements to enhance the delivery of your presentation, amplifying the impact of your ideas (where applicable).

  • Only team entries are allowed, and the team shall consist of two persons. There is no limit to teams from a single institution.
  • The decision of the quiz master will be final and will not be subjected to any change.
  • The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic instruments during quiz time.
  • The questions shall be in the form of multiple choice, true/false statements, specific answer questions, etc.
  • Audience/Supporters shall not give any hints or clues to the competitors.
  • Replacement of any participant of a team is not allowed after registration.
QUIZ INSTRUCTIONS:

There will be two rounds of the quiz competition,

  • Preliminary round or elimination round.
  • Final round or stage round.
  • Preliminary round or elimination round:
    • Each team will be given a set of question papers containing 25 questions. The following rules will be applied for the preliminary round.

      • Time limit: 25 minutes

      Each question will carry 1 mark.

      Only the top 6 teams will be selected for the final or stage rounds.

    • In case of a tie between 2 or more teams, a further 5 questions will be asked for the final selection.
    • The selected teams shall have to appear for the final round.
  • Final quiz/stage round:

    • The following rules will be applied for the final round,

    • 10 marks will be awarded for the correct answer
    • The response time for each question is 30 seconds
    • Passing option is allowed. Passing questions carry only 5 points
    • Team discussion is allowed
    • In the rapid-fire round, each team will be asked 3 questions one after another. 10 marks will be awarded for the correct answer and 5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
